Bob Hope Knows Democrats
Bob has them dead to rights… Hard to believe they have actually gotten worse since Hope delivered this quip.

Bob has them dead to rights… Hard to believe they have actually gotten worse since Hope delivered this quip.

What’s really worth considering when you weigh the important factors in voting. As Martin Luther King, Jr. did, make the judgment based on the content of a persons character and nothing else.

Love for your country is part of a persons character- so it isn’t about what a countries current leaders are doing that you may not like- it is about believing in its core ideals. For America, that’s liberty and equality. But Obama doesn’t look like he cares much, does he?
According to this piece several prominent Clinton supporters want Pelosi to retract her comment that superdelegates should support the candidate that ends up with the most pledged delegates (which looks like it will be Obama). Millions of dollars going down the drain here as both candidates slug it out to try and take the White House. But what difference does it make?

You… will… vote… for… me…
Clinton is a white female. Obama is an African American male. One day, distinctions like this won’t matter. But now, sadly, they do. But these distinctions are pretty much the only differences between Clinton and Obama. Both want higher taxes, both support actions to weaken America and to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq, both support the slaughter of children, both believe in nanny state government, both want to “give” you healthcare.
What’s truly sad here is that we do have an historic opportunity here. A female or an African American president. That would truly be great. But, sadly, that’s not true with Hillary and Obama in the race. What really matters is what is on the inside- and on their inside is the decay of liberalism. When we do have a woman, African American, or any other minority as president they need to be successful. Liberal policies, by their very nature, are based on failure. Fail finincially and government will take care of you. Fail morally and government will excuse you from the usual consequences of your actions.
So lets not fail in the upcoming election because if the voters fail they actually will have to suffer the consequences of their mistake. True, McCain may not be much but he’s vastly better than either Obama or Clinton. Anybody who doesn’t want to kill babies, rob you of your hard-earned cash, and wave a white flag in front of terrorists would be.
Now here is an encouraging piece. To hear that someone has converted from liberal to conservative is like hearing that someone woke up from a coma or that the brain-eating fungus spreading throughout their head just up and died.
And so David Mamet deserves our congratulations. Slicing through the lies that liberalism tells so convincingly is an extremely difficult job, as any who has fought against their emotion-laden, logic-less sniveling will tell you. I only hope that one day there will be some that can point to my writings (as Mamet does the great Thomas Sowell) as helping them to cast off the chains of liberal fallacies.
But such a journey – form darkness into light – is not easy. That they are liberal already brings into question their capacity to reason. Even so, some have not so tightly closed their eyes and minds that truth cannot seep in.
Here is a story that gives one hope that not every famous person of talent and beauty is a witless liberal.

It is rare when a celebrity deserves mention in connection with something relevant - thankfully, there are folks like Ann Margaret.
Viet Nam 1966
… AS TOLD BY A SINCERE LOVING WIFE …
Richard, (my husband), never really talked a lot about his time in Viet Nam other than he had been shot by a sniper. However, he had a rather grainy, 8 x 10 black and white photo he had taken at a USO show of Ann Margaret with Bob Hope in the background that was one of his treasures.
A few years ago, Ann Margaret was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. Richard wanted to see if he could get her to sign the treasured photo so he arrived at the bookstore at 12 o’clock for the 7:30 signing.
When I got there after work, the line went all the way around the bookstore, circled the parking lot and disappeared behind a parking garage. Before her appearance, bookstore employees announced that she would sign only her book and no memorabilia would be permitted.
Richard was disappointed, but wanted to show her the photo and let her know how much those shows meant to lonely GI’s so far from home. Ann Margaret came out looking as beautiful as ever and, as second in line, it was soon Richard’s turn.
He presented the book for her signature and then took out the photo.
When he did, there were many shout s from the employees that she would not sign it. Richard said, “I understand. I just wanted her to see it.”
She took one look at the photo, tears welled up in her eyes and she said, “This is one of my gentlemen from Viet Nam and I most certainly will sign his photo. I know what these men did for their country and I always have time for ‘my gentlemen.’”
With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him. She then made quite a to-do about the bravery of the young men she met over the years, how much she admired them, and how much she appreciated them. There weren’t too many dry eyes among those close enough to hear. She then posed for pictures and acted as if he were the only one there.
Later at dinner, Richard was very quiet. When I asked if he’d like to talk about it, my big strong husband broke down in tears. “That’s the first time anyone ever thanked me for my time in the Army,” he said.
That night was a turning point for him. He walked a little straighter and, for the first time in years, was proud to have been a Vet. I’ll never forget Ann Margaret for her graciousness and how much that small act of kindness meant to my husband.
I now make it a point to say “Thank you” to every person I come across who served in our Armed Forces. Freedom does not come cheap and I am grateful for all those who have served their country.

“No man ever more justly hanged” once said Nathaniel Hawthorn, speaking of John Brown and his raid on Harpers Ferry that, eventually, touched off the Civil War. But then, Hawthorn had never heard of Saddam.
Like most truths, liberals will somehow attempt to wish away the facts in a Pentagon review of roughly 600,000 documents captured in the Iraq war.
The report clearly links Saddam Hussein as a willing participant in plans to use terrorism to target Americans. Thinking people say, “well, duh.” But, of course, liberals prefer to whine about Iraq as a “sovereign” nation instead of recognizing it for the horror and hotbed of evil that it truly was. Only the coldest and cruelest of human beings with their eyes as tightly shut as possible could make any argument against the fact that Saddam had, yes had to be stopped. Those that site American deaths – the only argument that has even a hint of merit - have a very narrow and uninformed point of view.
Indeed, in the year 2005 you were more likely to be murdered in Compton, CA and Gary, IN than to die a violent death in Iraq. Liberals don’t want you to know this- preferring to keep you blind and ignorant to the fact that their socialist programs failed long ago. And you sure won’t get this info from the mainstream media whose dearest wish is to mislead the public into the disaster of electing Democrats who wish to turn America from the land of the free and home of the brave into the land of the dependent and the home of the complacent.
And come to think of it, I’ve not seen any San Francisco lunatics out marching to protest the deaths in Compton and Gary. I suppose they are to busy dreaming up new lies to tell you in an effort to steal even more of your money to combat poverty and crime with demonstrably harmful programs.
Stop liberals now before they allow genocide in Iraq and America herself collapses under the weight of its own government.
My apologizes for having taken so long a time to post something new. I’ve had to work a lot of overtime recently. Why? So I can come up with the necessary funds to put into mine and my wifes IRA’s. The more you put in (a max of $8000 for a husband and a wife together) the less the government can steal from you.
Think well on this. Certain types of IRA’s allow you to deduct from your heavy tax burden- the money you put in, in other words, cannot be taxed. Imagine- a legal way to keep more of what you earn. What a concept.

A real hero, a real conservative, a real man
But I digress. The point of this post is to honor Ronald Reagan. In the third of a five part series on great presidents, I focus on what made the Great Communicator such a good leader. I also ask the question who, if any, of the current presidential want-to-be’s measure up. On a scale of 1 to 10, Clinton is a zero (lacking Reagan’s charm, wisdom, and, indeed, any quality he possessed). Obama is a 1, having at least the ability to charm a crowd (sadly, there is nothing but liberal fantasy behind the talk). And McCain ranks a 2- he at least claims to be conservative and does understand (as Reagan did of the USSR) the threat that currently faces our country- terrorism. I hope you enjoy the column.
In an aside, I’m listening to an audio book by Bob Schieffer on the history of Face the Nation. Interesting. In it he discusses Nikita Kruschev who, in his groundbreaking interview for Face the Nation, said the grandchildren of 1950’s television viewers would be living under socialism. Sad that he turned out to be right.

Can’t you just see Obama’s love for, and belief in, America?
Obama’s message of hope is as simple as his mind is if he believes he can really change America. For every leftist nut job out there there is a thinking person who doesn’t believe for one second in this “Yes, we can!” nonsense. They see the slogan for what it truly is.
YES, WE CAN…. Raise your taxes!
YES, WE CAN…. Perpetuate the slaughter of the unborn!
YES, WE CAN…. Abandon Iraq and let the country descend into genocide!
YES, WE CAN…. Expand the size of government!
YES, WE CAN…. Expect no individual accountability!
YES, WE CAN…. Further destroy traditional morals and family values!
YES, WE CAN…. Descend deeper into the nightmare of socialism!
YES, WE CAN…. all this can be done and more to harm America and further strip her citizens of their freedoms. But who in their right mind would want to? Of course- liberals would. But they hardly qualify as “in their right mind.”
Interesting idea, to sue Carbon credits pushers. They are like traveling “doctors” in the old west that would sell any concoction they could brew up for any sickness they could make up. And even if you are not trying to make a profit off of fear mongering, Global Warming advocates in general are much like cigarette advertisers who used to claim smoking aided digestion. Neither had any idea what they were talking about.

You couldn’t pay for a better description of environmentalists.
What is wrong with people? No hard science exists yet that man has had any significant impact on rising temperatures. Historians point to global cooling and warming periods throughout recorded and pre-history.
Of course, the answer to what is wrong with some people is that they have an agenda- a liberal agenda that salivates at the thought of hurting the US economy (and therefor America in general) and so what to push their garbage at all costs.
Indeed, the only thing worse than your garden variety liberal is your environmental wacko liberal.

Fascism, socialism, communism - whatever you call it - the Left is bad for America.
What strikes me about Thomas Sowell’s column, and Jonah Goldberg’s “Liberal Fascism” is how it seems as if there are people who somehow fail to realize the obvious. Liberals are fascist, period. The Right knows this- can it somehow be that the Left fails to understand its most basic and obvious characteristics?
Oh, I don’t mean they are necessarily like Hitler and want to wipe out a whole group of people (though I’m sure some of them would like to heard conservatives into camps). For that matter, I would love to see liberals herded into camps, too- education camps. I can’t say “re-education” camps because obviously they are not truly educated to begin with or they would not be liberal.
Why are they fascist? Simple- they are against free markets, traditional religious moral values, and less government. They hate personal freedom and worship the state instead. That’s fascism.
Don’t believe me? Tell one of them you want to opt out of Social Security. They will oppose you, favoring state control of your resources. They don’t want you to have that choice. But that is just a small example. Regulate business, tax anything that moves, and make government the head of everything.
They hate this, being likened to fascist. Truth hurts, obviously. At any rate, when they bring us to ruin - as one day they will, make no mistake - at least we know a more sane society will rise from their ashes and there will be freedom again. Until, that is, we become so comfortable and self-absorbed that the process of liberalization starts all over again.
This is the second in a series of columns concerning great presidents and how the modern contenders for the office simply do not measure up. Part two discusses George Washington (part 1 covered Abraham Lincoln) and his great leadership ability.

A real leader
It is to our great misfortune that we no longer have such leaders. Rather than understanding freedoms of, which the Founders gave us, they want to give us freedoms from- which is what Karl Marx tried to give us but instead only created vast grave yards under the nightmare of communism.
Washington truly had it all - he was a statesman when today we have only politicians.

Not the enemies of white men, but the enemies of any who believes in the individual over the collective, who believes in personal accountability, and who believes in logic over liberal emotion.
This piece by Gary Hubbell is truly an interesting read. I don’t agree with every part of it but Hubbell gets a lot right- and well articulates much of my ow anger at those who oppress me, raid my paycheck, and want me to be something less than a man.
“His common traits are that he isn’t looking for anything from anyone — just the promise to be able to make his own way on a level playing field.” I can certainly understand where Hubbell is coming from with this statement. I want government out of my way for more than any other organization they stand in the way of my success. It isn’t my boss for not letting me get more overtime or promoting me- it’s my job to either work harder to get a promotion or find another, better job. I have less because government takes more. I could retire at 45 if government weren’t in my way. But since I have to pay for the retirements of all those others that refused to plan for their own future I won’t be able to do that.
“When Al Sharpton comes on TV, leading some rally for reparations for slavery or some such nonsense, he bites his tongue and he remembers.” This, too, makes sense. We live in America. If you can’t live well here you wouldn’t live well anywhere else. Well, maybe that is not true. Most other places you would know you have to work and would not be able to survive off of what government steals from the working folks to pay for your lazy lifestyle. The color of your skin doesn’t matter- I’ve seen folks of all sorts of different backgrounds who are, where work ethic is concerned, worthless. The world owes you something? Yeah, a good hefty kick in the pants.
And concerning Hillary? “Her voice reminds him of a shovel scraping a rock. He recoils at the mere sight of her on television. Her very image disgusts him, and he cannot fathom why anyone would want her as their leader. It’s not that she is a woman. It’s that she is who she is. It’s the liberal victim groups she panders to, the “poor me” attitude that she represents, her inability to give a straight answer to an honest question, his tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves.”
Dead on. I could care less that she is a woman. What bothers me is her cry of victim. What bothers me is her attitude that the collective is better than the individual. What bothers me is her class envy mantra. What bothers me is her obvious fake-ness.
It is the same for Obama. It is not that he is African American but that he believes much the way Hillary does; he is liberal and therefore unfit to command the armies of the US or lead its government.
Will angry white men keep either of them out of office? Lets hope so.
Hillary and Bill want to be back in the White House so bad that they do what Democrats always do; stir up class envy and lie.

Oh, don’t ask me any hard questions- I just want do to the reverse of what Bush has done as president. Where he lowered taxes, I want to raise them. Where he defended us from terror I want to weaken our ability to fight this war. You know, that kind of stuff…
In this, a brand new ad script for New Hampshire, she reveals her true self:
CLINTON: We’ve got to get serious about ending our dependence on foreign oil. We could create millions of new jobs through new energy.
CLINTON: Let’s start investing in what I’ve called a strategic energy fund that will put 50 billion dollars to work with wind and solar and biofuels.
CLINTON: And where would I get the money? I would take away the tax subsidies from the oil companies. They don’t need your tax dollars anymore.
ANNOUNCER: If you’re ready for change, she’s ready to lead.
CLINTON: I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.
Point 1: If she really believed we have to get serious about ending our dependence of foreign oil she would support drilling in the Arctic Preserve and in the Gulf. But that might upset the environmental folks who put trees above human interests. And who is this “we” she is talking about? Businesses create jobs, not Hillary (unless she ever decides to do something productive with here life and opens a business of her own she’ll never create jobs). Otherwise, she is too liberal to even help create an atmosphere that helps businesses create jobs.
Point 2: Where does the money come from for this strategic energy fund? Is that $50 billion dollars out of our pockets for government research? It would be vastly better used by businesses to find alternatives to oil because they have an incentive to succeed: that evil word, profit, that Hillary wants to take away from them anyway.
Point 3: Ah, and here we are- the class envy mantra. Take tax subsidies away from oil companies? Sounds good to me, actually, but my problem is this- she says “they don’t need your tax dollars anymore.” No, I need my tax dollars. What’s she going to do about that? Is she going to lower our taxes now? No, of course not- though big oil may not need our tax dollars, Hillary sure thinks she does.
Point 4: Ready for change? Sure, I’m ready for all liberals to go away and for common sense to return to our government and our society. Is Hillary the harbinger of that change? Hardly- she’s rather a symbol for that insanity and rank liberalism that plagues our nation. To her, change means moving even deeper into the self-loathing, guilty, taxing, gutless Code Pinkness, amoral pit that is liberalism.
McCain, bad as he is, is vastly better than Hillary or Obama (who is just as liberal as she is).

If we only all presidents were as good as the handful of truly great ones we’ve had. Bush has been good and, perhaps, history will even judge him as great. But he has let government get even larger and has done little to directly combat and destroy the liberal agenda. Unlike Lincoln, who used his tremendous leadership ability to hold our nation together and, more importantly, end the evil of slavery, Bush (and most modern presidents) have let the perpetual motion machine that is government expansion, corruption, and intrusion to the detriment and not benefit of our lives grow ever more out of control.
This may sound like a contradiction when many in Lincoln’s own day called him a tyrant. But Lincoln correctly identified an evil and dealt with it. Bust has identified terrorism and has, thankfully, fought it just as strongly as Lincoln stood to hold the Union together and thus end slavery. But Bush has more problems to deal with that he has failed to address successfully. What are the?
For one, Social Security (a “program” the American people have been successfully fooled into believing works and is actually good for them (do some quick math to see how much personal wealth can be accumulated over a working lifetime if one could invest that money themselves). It must at least be privatized fully or destroyed utterly. But of course there are other evils Bush as either not bothered to address or has not addressed successfully: the attack upon traditional values, the attack upon the family, our failure to drill in the Arctic Wildlife Preserve and expand our drilling in the gulf, to expand our nuclear energy facilities, and, for some unknown reason, he has failed to directly attack liberalism as the degrading and dangerous agenda it is.
He is of course not a total flop like Clinton and Carter - and he is vastly superior to his father - but there were so many great opportunities that, unlike Lincoln, Bush missed.
In Hate Springs Eternal Paul Krugman notes that:
“Racism, misogyny and character assassination are all ways of distracting voters from the issues, and people who care about the issues have a shared interest in making the politics of hatred unacceptable.”
Though his overall theme that either Democrat would be a good choice for president is mistaken, Krugman is right on this point. We do not want to distract voters from the issues. After all, it’s not Hillary or Obama that we hate- it’s their support of the murder of the unborn. It’s not Hillary or Obama that we hate – it’s there unreasoned if unintentional support of genocide in Iraq. It is not Hillary or Obama that we hate- it is their belief in socialism and the collective.

We should not assassinate their character but rather expose their hostility towards capitalism. We should not assassinate their character but rather expose their blind belief of and faith in government. We should not assassinate their character but rather expose their arrogant presumption that we the people are too ignorant to survive without their overreaching “benevolence.”
We should not distract voters from these issues- we should rather clearly proclaim the dangers radical liberal schemes pose to our nation. The decay in moral and social standing that result from never-ending handouts is as destructive to the individual human soul as to the society at large. The cost of government dependency to ourselves and our children and their children’s future is incalculable. The bigotry of low expatiations traps many - be they white, black or any other race - into a never-ending, debilitating degradation of hope to fear or, worse, hate. The attack on the family and its traditional roll and morals darkens the dreams of the decent and sensible.
This is Liberal Land- where the Lefts lies and arrogance heap upon the backs of decent Americans heavy chains forged from the massacred bodies of the unborn, forged from heavy taxes that trap families from bettering their future, forged from the bitter attacks by “freedom” and “peace” loving Americans upon those who stand to defend freedom and fight for peace.
Hate the people? No- as Christ commands we must love them. But hate the ghastly and repellent results of their failed policies. Hate the appalling and grisly body count of the American holocaust: abortion. Hate the hopelessness they parade around as a viable future. Hate their sheer, undeniable, and obvious lack of even a semblance of good sense and common decency.
A rant, a tirade? Call the truth what you will- by any other name it is still the truth.
