It is hard for me to understand how anyone of any political persuasion could endorse Ms. Coulter’s writings and philosophy of hatred. She claims that Christianity fuels everything she writes, but when I read her I am reminded of Gandhi’s remark: “I love your Christ. It’s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ.” The following is just a small sampling of her venom:
Concerning the immigration issue: “I’d build a wall. In fact, I’d hire illegal immigrants to build the wall…. It’s cheap labor.”
Of Canada: “They better hope the United States doesn’t roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent.”
Of Iran: “I just think it would be fun to nuke them and have it be a warning to the rest of the world.”
“Perhaps we could put aside our national, ongoing, post-9/11 Muslim butt-kissing contest and get on with the business at hand: Bombing Syria back to the stone age and then permanently disarming Iran.”
“We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity.”
“…I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East, and sending liberals to Guantanamo.”
“This is no time to be precious about locating the exact individuals directly involved in this particular terrorist attack. … We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war.”
