Court decision endangers innocents
National Review reveals more liberal lunacy from our tragically left-leaning courts. Constitutional rights for enemy combatants could be described in numerous ways: foolish, silly, inane, and of course liberal but most of all dangerous.
But to liberals that is what our laws are for- to insure innocent people are easier targets for the monsters that roam among us.

Say what?
The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals — which the Washington Times recently said is “widely regarded as the most conservative federal appellate court in the country” — is an example of “liberal lunacy from our tragically left-leaning courts”?
I like what Colin Powell (who can hardly be considered a liberal who believes our laws are “to insure innocent people are easier targets for the monsters that roam among us”) said Sunday on Meet The Press when he expressed his opinion that Guantanamo should be closed:
“The concern was, ‘Well, then they’ll have access to lawyers. Then they’ll have access to writs of habeas corpus.’ So what? Let them. Isn’t that what our system’s all about? And by the way, America has, unfortunately, 2 million people in jail, all of whom had access to lawyers and access writs of habeas corpus. And so we can handle bad people in our system.”
Yes, that is what our system is about. The pursuit of justice is not a liberal versus conservative issue.

“it is worth observing that this decision was written by Judge Diana Gribbon Motz, a Clinton appointee. It was joined by Judge Roger Gregory, originally nominated by President Clinton, but blocked by Republicans and finally appointed by President Bush in 2001 as an olive branch to Democrats — who quickly confirmed him before proceeding to block Bush nominees anyway. District Judge Henry E. Hudson of the Eastern District of Virginia, appointed by President Bush in 2002, dissented.”
‘Nuff said.
