Genocide staved off… but for how long?

Harry Reid failed in his attempts last night to send Iraq down the road to genocide- as the Senate voted 52-47 against allowing mass numbers of Iraqis to die at the hands of terrorist fanatics.

Still, it’s a very troubling thought that 47 Senators (almost half of the whole lot of them) are so shortsighted that they would vote in favor of abandoning the progress we’ve made, crushing the hopes of so many Iraqis that freedom may yet the theirs, and, above all, allowing a slaughter that will surely come as one sect squares off against another.

Reid is either too short-sighted to understand what will happen or he just doesn’t care. Either way- he’s a sad specimen to be at the head of affairs in the Senate.
