Shut down public education
In this weeks column I discuss the benefits of shutting down public schools in favor allowing the private sector do what it does so much better than government. I also discuss the major obstacle to this better method of education for our children; liberals.

Where do you get these far-fetched ideas?
Your suggestion that public schools should be closed down and made into a “profit driven” industry — an idea, you say, “that’s time has come” — is a real thigh-slapper when considered in light of the recent Pew Research Center study which found that the public overwhelmingly disagrees with the notion that “business strikes a fair balance between profits and public interest” (58 to 38 percent).
I shudder as I contemplate the sub-standard, make-shift educational programs the poorest citizens would endure, while the elite (as always) enjoy the very best.
Despite your attempts to make nearly every evil known to man the result of some “liberal agenda” (actually, what liberals have is a cause: liberty), I have to say that the stumbling block for this issue would be the American people — who are wary of big business.
